The emancipated heart epitomizes courage -
free to love without restraint or trepidation.
Its joyous fearlessness should only be encouraged
but regrettably it's a target for vindictive defamation.
The re-creation of a heart, one that’s been misused,
requires temperance and a boldness that is forceful.
Unrecognized, the chains that bind are also those that bruised.
Re-genesis proclaims a spirit that’s resourceful.
Incoherent prattle advocates to stay
safely in the prison that has held it tight.
“Don’t be impetuous” are the words they say.
A courageous heart takes wing into the darkened night.
