cracked

I've trashed the cross
laden upon my heart

a solid stone
made of pristine
emerald

slammed  down
upon the diamond table
of reality

my religion
upon the dust
of this mangled
cross

something of the
past;
something that has
been

torn away
from my unwrinkled
hands

so young ~
I had been
when he left me

Prompt:
Something that was trashed and you want it back

Religion. Perhaps I want it back; just not in the same way.

There are many things about religion that cause us to ponder the relevance & I get tangled up in them too!
    This one made me think
    Thanks for your entry

    Hi Perception!

Thanks for commenting on 'Summer' I thought I would return the favour to you :-)
I really liked the emotion in this poem and the clever wording. 'slammed down
    upon the diamond table
of reality' is awesome. Keep writing!

I really like the first two lines of the last stanza, they were simple, but held a lot of impact. And overall, the imagery was really well done! Nice adjectives =D
    GREAT job
    diggin it majorly

Intriguing - definitely a powerful metaphor and great imagery - I see what you have done here, and appreciate the way in which it was done!
