her sound

I met her verses
through touches of strings
enchanting poetic language
of a foreign tongue

and I heard how the words
played slow songs
sounds of soft breeze through
the valleys of India

her hands reached for mine
and I felt the scent
of young flowers
exhaled by her smile

Author notes

One of the first poems I read on her page, 'strings: finger music'...since then her words never left me without a smile

    Hoodwink!!

You have such a beautiful way with words in this piece. I was left looking for more but alas there was none. A masterpiece.

    As softly intriguing
    as an Impressionist painting,
    an imaginative portrait
    in floral colored paintbrush dabs.

    A beautiful tribute!

Oh i loved that poem of hers too, and ever since i read her work, i was hooked too.

This is lovey poetry, Mari and you've captured so much of her essence in this poem. It has a lovely singing quality about it and that's right, as she does write the songs that make us all sing.

Thank you for writing this for her.

Ah, so this is what this poem was written about. "What," lol, sorry, I laugh at jokes only I get.

So now this ups the ante and so anyone who wants to enter with a hope at winning will have to write a poem to StridentMarch.

    Ok, the semi-serious part:

Is Strident from India? I'll have to go on a fact finding mission and see. Oh wait, your stating a scene in a poem of hers I bet. You know, that is what the comment area below is for, to explain things like that.

    her hands reached for mine

We all look for that affinity, someone who speaks in the same vein as us, or at least writes that way, with some vague synchronicity...odd I've never met anyone (for me) like that...in any way...ever.

    Exhaled by her smile

That's a great expression, vague enough to be original, common enough to be understood/meaninful. But you know I'm not going to like:

    and I felt the scent

The day I can feel a smell is the day I finally go to see a doctor.

It has your usual flourishes of grace, charm, beauty and piquant phrases.

It even has the feel of smells.

Yem, Just ignore MariGoes, she's been hitting the sauce again. There is no Namita, it's all in her head.
