True humanity is revealed
when the palm yields to the nail
When the other one is not seen
as a wall to be smashed down
but as one to be gently walked around
Bending in the wind a tree is supple
and will stand rather than be uprooted
Closing ones eyes to the other’s pain
and hardening oneself to the hungry ones
causes the spirit to become stifled
Its flow to mind and body is stilled
A rushing river offering life
requires somewhere to go
Human nature that is true
yields to the other one
Offers itself where there is need
and is indestructible
Feathers are flexible
though strong enough to lift the bird
The need to give is relentless
and the human nature to fly is infinite

Ahhh. If only we humans would allow it to be? Imagine what a beautiful world we would have in front of us. Beautiful. ~Pamela

Some humans do allow it to be and they cause the world to be beautiful.

Yes, indeed you are quite right. Sure wish they were the majority.
How beautiful it would be.

Sometimes the flight can be to escape because we close our eyes to the needy around us, yet I agree that our feathers are flexible and able to carry the load to help our fellow human beings. If only we would all try, the worlsd would be amuch better place, Ros

I think the flight enables us to see further, including to really see those suffering.

Love it!
This is so well written. I especially love "Closing ones eyes to the others pain
and hardening oneself to the hungry ones
causes the spirit to become stifled
Its flow to mind and body is stilled" So true..Patty -
Well written. Indeed, this is true humanity. Human nature has its good side and dark side as well,; a duality. Keep the ink flowing and good luck!

I'm not sure what you mean about the dark side; are you referring to my poem because I didn't include a dark side.
-
-
I was referring to the fact true human nature has both a good and a dark side, a duality. Being stubborn can sometimes lead to the dark side.
As far as the poem, I wouldn't change a thing. You have nailed it. I'm sorry for confusing you. I was half asleep when I read this last night. Keep up the great writing. Love and hugs...
