You're The Only One Who Will Ever Make Me Smile In The Dark.

Tell me once again,
that you'll never let me go.
within seconds of rolling over on your side to close your eyes,
hours of sorrow, being even a few inches from your naked body.
dreams only formed like silent films, slide shows of images from the nights before.
[feeling restless, running on a hourglass inside my head.
sitting in silence, inside of a mythological dream]

Tell me once again,
    that you'll never leave.
within moments of packing your bags to leave me all alone & in the dark.
only to have a memory of your smell, the roll of your tongue on my lips,
the defining silence between our eyes & the commotion between our brains.
[feeling absent-minded, molded against fresh sand paper.
standing in invisible rain, underneath a plastic rainbow that used to be stenciled inside the clouds, once upon a time.]

Tell me once again,
that you'll always be with me.
within moments you are a doors length away from me.
only to hear your beautiful voice, laughing, intertwined with other laughter, conversations echoing down the hall.
The blaring music radiates in my eardrums, fumbling to relay messages that I'll never understand in these dark few moments.
[feeling alone, anxiety stricken with an intense feeble, numb nature.
lying in the night light illuminated room, between the chairs that form a hiding spot in a make-believe version of hide & seek.]

Tell me once again,
    that you love me.
within not even a second do you pause.
you smile as you run your fingers across my lips,
outlining my hips with your eyes, intensifying every single moment.
            overlapping my body with yours,
you sing softly, out of tune, the only way you can, just to put a single smile across my deeply freckled face.
[feeling teary-eyed, I always knew you'd be the only one to comfort me.
sinking in between my sheets, I fall asleep in the arms of the only boy who could ever make me smile in the dark.]

I'll always love you.

Author notes

Even within seconds of you stepping in the elevator, I felt a piece of me die.

I'll be dead until I see you walking back through my door.

May Day Parade = perfect inspirational music.

    Wow. Seriously
This is what love is. That even in death, it never leaves.

This was truly an amazing poem that tugs at the heartstrings of the reader and leaves them speechless by the end of it.

I really like this! Don't worry, you two will see each other again before you know it! ^_^ I really liked the line "dreams only formed like silent films, slide shows of images from the nights before."
