Drifting Off

I went to sleep smiling last night
without flannel sheets or socks.

Sounds of spring scratched
at my open window
cool air welcome
after the heated day.

Light and shadow intertwined
on the ceiling
drifting like storm clouds.

I was waiting for lightning
still grinning
as I drifted off.

I can see you there now, with the window open and a gentle breeze coming in giving you a little bit of a goose bump...then gunshots in the distance. crap! those drunken hoods! wait...back to the bumps, pert and hard, lol. nice write.

ooo, what a nice spring feeling these first warmer nights bring. I agree, good approach for a unique spring poem.
