There are three-hundred-sixty-five days in a year
And according to my calculations, I’ve developed a fear
It’s nothing; really, no one has noticed what is done
I think though, I can’t be sure, everyone’s lost all but one
I suppose it’s good in one is not to be lost
That it is April 22 that was not tossed
You see I made a mistake, I read the mail flyers today
It really had quite the assortment to lead me astray
Recycled cans, and paper, and organic tees in all places
Even Wal-Mart made Earth Day embraces
Which is bold for their environmental worth
We all neglect, way too much, our dear Mother Earth
One day a year we remember her so well
It’s not mother’s day, so I must ring this bell
If the world can make it possible to be greener
On the one day not obliterated, I find it much keener
To believe that can be done everyday of the year
All three-hundred-sixty-five days I cheer
Author notes
I was eating breakfast and decided to look at the Rite Aid, Wal-Mart, JC Pennies, ect...flyers that were laying there and I just brought up some questions for me.
