I wish that I could fly away and leave this world behind.
Escape the memories of my past that plague my tortured mind.
I feel so oft restricted in my barren, hidden pain.
My ever-vivid nightmare, to haunt me once again.
My sea of desperation is a fountain of my tears
spawned from all the anguish I have suffered through the years.
I foresee a dismal future through the history of my past.
An anguish, so enhanced by the sins I have amassed.
Thoughts of molestation and the nightmare of a rape,
cloud my mind and long to find my intimate escape.

Rigorousley Brave!
I believe, it takes a real person to face their greatest inner fears and bad memories. Also that this brave facing is the very action which can cleanse the heart. By allowing light into its secrets, so they can be mercified and freed from constriction, things which become stuck can move again, to return from where they came.
The voice of open heartfelt honesty (or should I say surgery!) I hear in this poem, is one of a rigorously brave and healthy undertaking of personal exorcism. May it lead to taking such flight desired.
To be willing to share such secrets from the heart in poetry, I think is marvelouse. I didn't expect to find this here... what a reality check!

...I think this every day and every day I have to stand strong with both feet on the ground because my kids need me and I could never leave them behind.
