Quicksilver Labyrinth

Lost
In the slithering walls
Of this fluid maze...

Is the portal,
To and from the depths of my psyche...
At its beginning?
At its end?
Or is it within the journey itself?

The floor itself urges me forth,
Like a conveyor belt to manifest destiny...
Be it within me,
Is this territory still mine to conquer?

The traps set,
Guardians laid to rest here,
Those obstacles, which are the walls...
That I have built without, and within myself....
Can even I find my way through them,
To save me from the tyranny of my imposing heart?

Thorned king upon a throne of liquid death,
That which preserves its power over my decision...
How can I hypnotize this beast into submission,
When the desire to embrace its darkness is so overwhelming....

Again I am placed where I began by an unseen force...
Whose only name is doubt.
