A mothers sorrow

In memory of:

Michael shaun Whitaker

12/2/89 to 3/17/08

'Oh dear boy, ...another gone

a mother weeps from dusk til dawn

In her broken sleep she patiently awaits

with a wounded heart in dire straits

Too see your face again and hold you near

it never stops, "That endless tear"

A son full of dreams that never came

anyone that knew you will never be the same

you're to young my friend to leave this earth

it was just yesterday it was your birth

Sweet memories of you will never die

as so many bow their heads and cry

Prayers to the heavens are sent with care

to a beautiful son with a soul so rare!

Author notes

May the Lord watch over you friend

    Hood-Wink!

Congratulations, dear Poet, on being ambushed by the Poetic Bandits! I truly hope this mass visitation serves to bring a smile to your face and a renewed confidence to your work...

Oh, boy... This is a heartbreaking poem, brimming with love, sorrow, loss, understanding, empathy. I know you've been there, and this shows so poingnantly in your words. No-one understands in sharper relief than someone who has lived the experience, and in this respect, dear Poet, my heart goes out to you all.

I applaud your ability to reach out to another in their time of grief and I in turn, as a reader of your work today, reach out with sincere hugs to you along with my wishes for a sense of composure in the belief that he is at peace in your love.

    May your God bless...
