A mist upon the water at early even-tide,
A vision of such beauty that hovers far and wide;
So silently it shivers across the land and sea,
A spectre of his spirit appears to you and me.
I see his life before me, it floats on shifting sand,
The tendrils of emotion are swirling round my hand;
I feel droplets of water, a symbol of his tears,
They shimmer in the twilight,evaporating years.
The moonlight's golden aura accompanies his flight,
To carry souls to heaven and aid them in their plight;
So now he knows what happens, I guess that I know too,
It is my given duty to offer it to you.

As in
"Pay it Forward", we learn to help others as we ourselves are helped. A message of hope well written! Blessings, J.

Thank you for your entry Your offering seems to take "the mist" as an indication of the spirit rather than as an indication of mere transience of the earthly body and you have written a nice poem around that theme. Well conceived and well written. I particularly like your first line which is so laden with a variety of meanings.
Jim
PS I assume from the spelling of spectre that you are British like me. Accompany's however is wrong in both English and American. The word is accompanies
