A Place in the Sun.

Missing image
.
This morning dawned both bleak and cold,
when along this fence I leisurely strolled,
and as the sun to her mid zenith climbed,
not a warmer spot on this rail could I find
but as I rest enjoying this drowsy peace,
the sun’s warmness upon my fluffy fleece
in a hazy confusion I try to work out why
those crazy humans keep on rushing by.

    Extreemly Well Written !

I really enjoyed reading this poem. You put so much about the Love of Nature and apprecian for it in this peice ! Your words that are in it also flow so nicely.I try to work out why , those crazy humans keep rushing by.That is such a powerful line , for now a days most humans rush so fast that they never seem to remember all of the beauty God gave us to look at and into. Again Wonderfully written ! Brenda Gae

    Excellent

Wonderful poem, Barry. A great take on the prompt. I love the perfect word choice and striking imagery. My favourite lines:

as I rest enjoying this drowsy peace,
the sun’s warmness upon my fluffy fleece
in a hazy confusion I try to work out why
those crazy humans keep on rushing by

    Congrats and Best Regards!

    hello my dear daddy

I haven't been here for rather a long time, but tonight decided to take a look here and see how friends are doing in here.
Your poem is cute and made me smile.
Wish you luck in the contest.

Nah... that's one well drunk squirrel, exhaustedly thinking, "I've been climbing this bloody tree for two hours, and I'm nowhere near the top yet!"
