Wrap my thoughts in a winter coat
keep them fresh from the ravages
of the winds of time
Nestle my tears
among autumn's leafy carpet
so that they may soften the impact
of feet weary from burden
Bemused by the all consuming silence
of the forest's golden hues
it seems my fog riddled cortex
may yet have a chance for reprisal
Enraptured by one treasured moment
of soul enrichment
from nature's clarifying breath
In this sudden peace
so surreal yet sublime
is where dreams and desire collide
And within the folds
of the solitary leaf that I cradle
are the visions of future prosperity
that become the pillow on which I sleep

A write rich in texturedness ...
and in colourful imagery. How deep the thoughts inspired by a mere leaf! But of course: leaves are drenched in metaphoric references.
