Trapped on land
Her heart seeks the sea
With mourning in her heart
And a dirge trapped in her head.
Gone are the days of youth
Where love and joy reigned
Now come empty nights filled with pain.
Like the bird in her hand
Whose bones were shattered,
Only to earth will she fall.
A broken spirit,
With broken wings,
Bound captive in the tide.
In the adult world
There are no dreams
And there is no air to fly.
Standing on the horizon
Staring at tomorrow
She weeps …
for another day gone by.
