Today

My house has fallen into one of it's long bouts of silence
the air is forlorn
as the rose my father gave my mother is begins to wilt
the clank of the pots i wash is all there is
I don't know when the despair set in
i only know it must end
lest we go mad

Author notes

i'm sorry my poem is so short
but it doesnt need to be long, everyday i wake up, only to count the sheep on my wall.

Short but meaningful. This is a wonderful piece which prolongs deep thoughts and leaves one to wonder. Good job with this and keep up the good work
