Beloved Queen

Dear Guinevere whose womb we worship
for heir to the Camelot kingdom
Expecting soon a fertile courtship
uniting hereafters to succumb

Beauty distilled from ordinary
uniting our land for common good
Knights with chivalry legendary
upholding justice in brotherhood

Beloved queen be not contrary
destiny soon this union will bless
Then dance with ale and all be merry
giving praise to your prince or princess

Never your gaze look hither or yon
to espy Lancelot’s gleaming armor
Magical tales a spellbound icon
not victim fall this handsome charmer

To Arthur the King his chalice found
benevolence reign and be our Queen
Of romance and myth forever crowned
ne’er to be swayed by love clandestine

I truly think you are capable of taking any subject matter and making it a wonderfully written piece of art. A fine tribute to the Lady Fair. I've enjoyed, as always.

Good luck in the contest hun.

An interesting piece. I wonder who in the tales could have wrote it. In that time between her loving Lancelot and when she had first married Arthur. I like the concept of this.

It is sad that Guienever didn't have children, though I suppose if she had it might have made things more complicated.

    Thanks for entering. Nicely rhymed.

A fitting tribute to Lady Guinevere. To be the comfort and encourgement of such a dedicated knight as Sir Lancelot must have been her own dedication, to love and be loved... such a pair

You wrote this so well, you're very good with this style

    Good luck in the contest
