Musical Memories

Within the labyrinth of mind
Music dwells like ocean mist
For once the music is aligned

‘Tis how your soul is so defined
A passion one cannot resist
Within the labyrinth of mind

Orchestral tones are so refined
As your spirit has been kissed
For once the music is aligned

As cares and woes do fall behind
And hungry spirits must subsist
Within the labyrinth of mind

A lasting memory enshrined
As symbols crash with iron fist
Within the labyrinth of mind
For once the music is aligned

Villanelle:
A Villanelle is a nineteen-line poem consisting of a very specific rhyming scheme:

wow...this is surely one the 'memories' that I would like to keep...with 'music,' all my pain just fades away, and like music, your 'poetry' also helps me to soothe my soul....God bless!!!

Another lovely one with a smoother tone than the last one I read. Not to demean your last poem just that the
    cadence is different Excellent!

This is a very beautiful write. I know you are writing with eight-syllables, and so are very constrained, and you have worked within those constraints masterfully. I feel the flow of this seems to go like waves of the ocean. Was that intentional? It certainly works, regardless. Bravo!

this is a wonderful Villanelle, normally I do not like them at all but you managed to pull it off wonderfully with out it being forced, it reads well and flows nicely wonderful write!

I shall have to look afresh at this form, some time when I am not dry. You seem to be able to summon it up at will.

Beautiful write, Amera. I think music can be very uplifting to the soul. I also liked the last line the best. It makes me think of when an artist is able to write a lyric just the way they like and feel happy when the piece of music is accomplished. Wonderful poetic form, as always. Thanks for sharing and keep that pen flowing.

I tasted this poem and it tasted nothing like vanilla? More like pistachio or butternut?

No, this was very cute, and rhythmic..... and the labyrinth of my mind is easy to find after the shock theraphy treatment.
