Thursday woke to sober sounds and ended with Mary Poppins

Inside St Michael's Church:
in the heart
of us

of her

we sang

as best we could

with choking voices

and heads filled with

what-if's and thunder

in our ears

the organist played too high
for Northern grit voices

- but typical of the girl

she got the last laugh

and was carried by Scott, Mike, Paul

and three others I didn't know

to the super-duper sound of
Supercallyfragilisticexpiallydotious?
spell checked us all to the end, Kathy

smiles leapt with tears

and with your wings
beating
in our hearts

we were at peace

with your passing

- O' it's a lovely holiday with Kathy

wow. I love this. I have this thing for St. Michael. And I guess perhaps this really tapped into that. Actually, just angels in general...and, I Mary Poppins? Well, I sort of just...oh I love it. And can I ask you, is the laughing and tears? Could that have any play off of the scene when they need to think of something sad to come down from the tea party by the roof?

It's spiritual to me, too. I perhaps had too much wine tonight, but...either way, I just adore this.

You pay very close attention to line breaks and positioning, don't you? Well, very well done.

Mary Poppins. Lovely. Now you will see her in every breath of wind.

Gilly, often of late I am lost beyond smiling and applauding, but I could not leave this tribute to your dearly departed friend without saying your words must do her justice, her character dances the last dance she shared with you all. The imagery of everyone dressed in pink and the spoonful of sugar to make the medicine go down, I see it, feel it and understand and it's made me misty eyed and yet made my heart smile, what a way to say farewell, love and light, Yvette

    I am sorry

I did not know this person with such a regard for her friends as to have requested a humorous chorus to lighten all your loads.
