Going through a dry spell.
Been reworking stuff I put aside
just for this occasion.
Unfinished poems that just fizzled out
for one reason or another
but I couldn’t bring myself to toss them.
Bukowski was right.
'You can’t skip a day'.
You have to keep writing,
keep them juices flowing
even if it’s pure shit!
So don’t think I don’t know what this is,
but it’s done now, & I could go get a beer now,
and try getting back on
this horse again tomorrow.

I’ll take whiskey over beer, but other than that I sure can relate to this fine piece. It was a fun read, which I can appreciate! Thanks so much for entering my contest. It’s an honor read your fine work!

I think Bukowski would applaud this, Mike. I find your vernacular, almost conversational, style both realistic and entertaining. You are the bard of ordinary, everyday American life.
Keep 'em coming,
Bill
