with protracted palm,
quintessence questing
between sands of time
for light, truth, intelligence.
Stretching, seeking
still waters within
well of self,
dug into eternity;
glories past
a cord quivering
beneath surface of hearing,
anticipating
plucking of purpose -
to change what is
to what need be

Lovely tribute!
Such beautiful verse. She must have loved getting this birthday poem. I like the use of verbs in progressive tense...stretching, seeking, plucking, etc. Nicely done.

What a gift you have to find just the right words that seem to capture what I know of Blue Rew. She has that same gift and would write an equal tribute for those she knows. If I hang around long enough, perhaps I will grow into that realm with you too.
