Take the Hand of the Lonely

Another year of torture but we all keep moving on
No one stops to listen to that new and lonely girl
She's too afraid to say her name but looking for some hope

There's a little boy in first grade and he's too afraid to move
The other kids are playing four square but he stands alone
He stares with an empty heart as every one walks right past.

A kind old lady sitting in the park at night time
Its winter and she has no family to call her own
Her only friends are the birds but they can't fill her heart

Will anybody see them or will they walk alone
Will somebody hold the hand they show
What would you do if you saw them cry
Would you help or would you pass by?

Your words are so sad but very true. We seem to be oblivious to those in need around us. It tskes so little to reach out to lonely people and the rewards are so great when we do. A wonderful poem with great imagery Thank you for sharing. Bless you. Sandy
