For ten-thousand miles
and ten-thousand years,
my shoulder's caught
about that many tears.
But, like all tissues,
I'm easily tossed away.
From your pedestal,
"I love you"'s not that easy to say.
You don't know what you want.
You don't know what you need.
Tossed in to the wind,
my precious tumbleweed.
We tried so hard.
We hoped it would be.
But I think you'll agree;
I can't go chasin' a tumblweed.

first in like 3 years...wow
right?

WELCOME BACK
I understand what you are saying in this, and though I can't relate because I tried chasing my damn tumbleweed, but what do you know I chased it, lost it, and found ecstacy!

It is about time you wrote again

Excellent
A very fine write, which also brought back poignant memories. The title of this poem brought to mind an old western song sung by the Sons of the Pioneers, called:
"Tumbling Tumbleweeds". There also was an old movie by the same title starring Gene Autry.

Heartfelt! I have been through the ringer myself lately so know the feeling well. If you have to chase them always be ready to get kicked again I'm sorry to say. You expressed yourself well in this! Well done!

Very lyrical and could be the start of a song - just need a few more verses, using the last one above as the chorus. Enjoyed the flow, rhythm and rhyme in these lines.
