How deep must you to cut...
Just to reach perfection,
To find yourself again
And see beauty in your being.
The perfection hides inside you,
A startling, glistening red
Falling in perfect orbs
Through the air below
So smooth, so quick
Only to be demolished to shatters
When the world touches it.
How deep must you cut...
To find what they want to see,
To be what they call beautiful.
You watch the life flow away,
With every drop that is set free
You find yourself prettier,
Wanted,
...But what did you have to trade?
How deep must you cut...
To reach the sensation you've lost,
To alleviate the numbness you've set inside
That makes everything seem worthwhile,
Every pain, every mockery,
Every scar upon brain.
How deep will you cut...
