Pale cream-colored leaves,
texture smooth under my hands.
Edges crisp and flat.
Violet hazy sunset.
Slim silhouettes thrown against the wall,
darkness drips onto the pages.
Each word a bell,
ringing clear and rolling through my head,
Deep emotions fanning into flames.
Final paragraph read,
the book held tight to my breast
as the light finally fades.
Reading an escape...
an adventure
a passion.

Comments? Constructive criticisms? Is the rhyme working? Does the last stanza fit? The last line?

Damn...this is very very impressive writing. Exactly what I wanted from the contest. Your images are clear and your words concise, yet there is a very dreamy feel to it all. Thank you so much for entering. Love, Lane
