The weather, has taken a turn for the worst
My wounds fester in the open and violent dirt
I feel myself losing consciousness as I hit the ground
the blood on my hands I see and breath slows down.
Serenity and peace come, not a moment too soon
There is a strange surrealness in my swoon
I sense a presence, beside me by the water's edge
A benevolence misplaced, something the river dredged?
Gentle fingers touch my skin, their objective sincere
I think I spied angel wings in the reflection by the river
Back home after another battle, a sense of doom and loss so pure
I think I spied angel wings, but I never will be sure...

Thank You!!
Thank You for Your entry: Second Thoughts
This tugged at Spirit and Wonderful tale told...
Images unfolded throughout this verse~
The pain imagined
Swelled the eyes...
The last line...I think I spied angle wings..
did You mean angel wings? Just wanted to ask for clarification but I imagined that is what You meant
Love the rhyme weaved...
Powerful verse seen also felt through Your words
These lines grabbed and pulled~
Serenity and peace come, not a moment too soon
There is a strange surrealness in my swoon
I sense a presence, beside me by the water's edge
A benevolence misplaced, something the river dredged?
