Chinese whispers
spat from one clone to the next
whirling around
beneath the sordid wind
that gives a sinister wave
reminding me
that rain still falls
in a circle of friends
washing truth
down lonely street
where the only people left
are the ones I burnt
and now there's a thinning
of familiar faces
lost somewhere in an upturned world
I've created.
Girls aren't always
sugar and spice...

A wonderful take on the prompt. Love the direction you took this. So true, gossip is everywhere...Best of luck in the contest with it

Now I liked the poem and mosy enjoyed your author's notes. Gossip can indeed be harmful and, at times, we all gossip. You said so much in your vers. Hope that those that need it understand. Good-luck in the contest, Papagallo

WOWZERS!!!! There is so much truth in this! This is such a fab write! Yes girls are terrible for gossiping and stabbing each other in the back! Hopefully we learn as we age!
