The silence is intense;
As we say nothing, there's suspense.
What do we say right now,
When it's so hard to ask you--how?
A thought occurs to me,
And I am curious suddenly;
I ask you one thing slow
Because I feel that I must know.
As always you reply
With honesty--at least, you try;
My heart speeds up so quick,
Much faster than a clock hand's tick.
And now we're so content
Because of this wondrous event;
There wasn't much to hide
When every day, it seemed I sighed.
This all feels like a dream;
It's just too good for me, it seems,
But I realize it's real
Because I know the way you feel.
Good night my dearest star,
My brightest moon, how loved you are.
Until the morning's light
I'll dream of you all through the night.
Deep sleep I wish to you
All undisturbed the whole way through,
So that when we next meet,
Our time together will be sweet.
My phone against my ear,
I cannot help but smile here,
But you must say farewell
Because those words I cannot tell.
And after we say "Bye"
I feel like through the clouds I fly--
For that phone call, long due,
I know has started something new.

I have just been browsing through poems, came across yours and felt I had to comment on such a beautiful write. I love the rhyme and flow which keeps it moving along nicely with such sweet sentiment at it's core.
