Maybe you're perfect
In their eyes, but no one else's
Why does it matter?
Someday, you'll see it doesn't
Until then you just
Do not learn and keep on going
I can tell how much you're suff'ring
Always you've been everybody's fool
It isn't worth it
To try and be someone you're not
I love the real you
No matter what others might say
But still you simply
Do not learn and keep on going
Can't you tell how much you're suff'ring?
Everyone around you, they're all fools
You're on your own
Until you try
Being yourself
And you don't hide
You know the truth, dear
Don't let them fool you
And you'll no longer be a fool
You must learn and keep on going
Only then, there'll be no suff'ring
Someday you can be amazing
Don't let fools take you with them
Just stay strong, and you can beat them
Understand yourself and you'll stay true
In their eyes, but no one else's
Why does it matter?
Someday, you'll see it doesn't
Until then you just
Do not learn and keep on going
I can tell how much you're suff'ring
Always you've been everybody's fool
It isn't worth it
To try and be someone you're not
I love the real you
No matter what others might say
But still you simply
Do not learn and keep on going
Can't you tell how much you're suff'ring?
Everyone around you, they're all fools
You're on your own
Until you try
Being yourself
And you don't hide
You know the truth, dear
Don't let them fool you
And you'll no longer be a fool
You must learn and keep on going
Only then, there'll be no suff'ring
Someday you can be amazing
Don't let fools take you with them
Just stay strong, and you can beat them
Understand yourself and you'll stay true
Author notes
It's kinda the opposite of the Evanescence song that inspired it. I believe in this message with all my heart: being yourself is the most important accomplishment a person can make in this world. The difference is that everyone has a chance of attaining it, but few stick to who they are and what they believe in.
Does it flow well? Could you feel the emotion?
