Her turn

as blood runs through her deep fragile vains she can only sit
waiting for her turn
her turn to reach that final desination
her turn to become the soul
to become the unkown but not forgotten
death closing in on her

she breathes heavily contemplating what will happen after she goes
where will she go her mind is torn between thoughts of death
these thoughs were on everyones mind as we watched her slowly fade away
as we watched the women we once knew as warm and happy
become bitter and cold
realeasing the warmth that was in her heart
with every clouded breath

in her last moments some of us would say we saw a flash of a time before
a flash of the love she used to show
but it was her turn
her turn to go
her turn to be in peace
her turn to die

we can sob and sigh at the loss we have just had
but in the end we will remember all that was good about her
all that we loved
all that we held dear

but we also will realise it was

her turn

This is such a truthful write

I'm not sure if you are talking about me being suicidle and so depressed or about my son that I lost. Maybe you though I lost a daughter. I lost my son Matt just last September, just 6 months ago at the young age of 24. You wrote such a lovely poem here though and I really like it. So kind and full of compassion you are to write for this contest. You brought me comfort in the end

we can sob and sigh at the loss we have just had
but in the end we will remmember all that was good about her
    all that we loved
    all that we held dear
