Here comes the errant poet--
wanna bee philosopher
swingin' his intellectual fists
like a nebraska haymaker
or a texas cowpoke
in a hollywood studio saloon.
"Here" I shouted in my mind
as I walked and worked my daily grind,
"Y'all can have my arrogance;
I won't be needin' it no more.
& even this ego must go!
Fire bargain basement sale!
EVERYTHING must go!"
Author notes
These words came to mind after I passed M'Lady auto dealership walking and picked up an old Trib which some one had forgot to rescue from the snow back in February.
