Lesser of Two Evils..

(Collaboration of SpiritMother and Starz of Heaven)

They both once existed inside of me
but they do not go together
one is black the other is white
always at war with each other

I know I made the right choice
it was clear as the colors of night
to let go of the hate, rejoice,
nurture and watch love grow.

These are the colors of life
fighting the battle until the end,
mixed up with each other
tearing away the shades of strife.

Love and hate are opposites
that we all carry within
melding together in our hearts
until we start over, once again.

Author notes

This was an enjoyable endeavor between Starz and myself. I thank her for the beautiful background and her wonderful poetic help!

Love and hate, black and white...if we did not have these differences life would be a bit boring. It helps life weave its roads for us each with much wisdom gained. Well done, thanks for sharing

Lovely flow, almost like a chant, simplistic in nature but this also goes well with the mantra quality of this piece.

I love the picture and the topic discussed: the good old war between Good and Evil, Noir et Blanc (Black and White)

Mom and Starz.. you have done one hell of a job on this piece. I love the background and it is very apt and great.

Both side of this thin line lie with each of us. Right/wrong, love/hate, at times they all seem to blend.

    Great work ladies!

    A Wonderful Collaboration

you two have woven. One that speaks of the duality of nature within us all. As well as the battle we all fight to remain in the light of love for ourselves and others.

    Wonderfully Written

I think that this work is a long way of saying - all things are balanced and we have equal potential for both ends of the love-hate spectrum.
On a similar note, it would also make some interesting reading to acknowledge the in-betweens a.k.a some kind of difficult moral situation. You could have a lot of fun with something like that judging by the way you write.
This was a wonderful construction of words and phrasing. Very lyrical. Very nice.

an enjoyable piece to read, kind of a good guy bad guy thing mixing it up. I at first got the impression you'd leaned to the dark side. I reread it a few times and kept finding different impressions, I'm not sure exactly what to say except good job. rudolf

    This is a great poem.
What was your inspiration for writing this?
I like this poem very much.
With Jesus in our lives, good will always prevail over evil.
    You are a great poet.

    You are right.

There is a balance between the good and the evil when one overshadows the other it is still chaos. However we pray and hope that the good ousts the evil that makes us not see things as they should be.
