beauty of the bells

they say you're invisible, but oh!, how they lie.
you're everywhere in this; the shadows and the spies.
they're weak at the knees--too blinded to see
that you could have helped them like you've sanctified me.

some don't hear your whispers; some don't hear the bells
that ring over mountains and valleys and dells.
they turn a blind eye to the joy you can bring.
they shudder and turn from the peace that can ring.

she can't feel your presence; he can't feel your touch.
or maybe they feel it and know it's too much.
maybe the whole world turns from your grace,
too afraid to let go of their linens and lace.

the seven hugs of hell you bow down to each day
can't take the void from the heartbreak away.
be quiet and listen--you just may find
that the bells will always echo in your mind.

they call you invisible but Lord, they don't know
the sound of the bells--the mercy you show.
whether strong or weak, Lord, help them to see,
that you can love them like you've always loved me.
