Palette Season

The season when all things come to an end

where winter thaws all that nips its pose,

sung to blue jays, a spring melancholy send.

There a whisper; leaf upon branch, now composed,

all of madness now coming, seize within reason,

Where rouge melt her tears a palette season.

Nurture all that was of a snowy season,

as far as the hilltop and the wild flowers end,

She saw the butterfly pollinate love of reason,

As the wind, dressed a leaf branch, a stature pose.

dressing behind lilacs lace, an apron daisy-composed.

and melodies whisk on the wind, a pollination send.

A mother’s love song with lyrics as she send,

as the ice pond melt, a warm breeze now season

from the seed ground, and nurturing composed,

each little bud spun its palette, canvas end.

Where ones beginning on the tipped, posed,

walked the valley and drank its breath reason,

milked its pollination from all of sun’s reason,

and give the bumble bee its humming as she sends

the ides of March to April showers a growth in pose,

from the depths of winters frozen complexities season

nurturing in kaleidoscope vision that a mother ends.

On canvas, its painting mused all composed,

All buds posed on tip of the soiled drank a reason,

from the mountain's and the valley composed a melody send,

on canvas a hue that palettes end with showers, that nurture season.

'She saw the butterfly pollinate love of reason,

I'm not generally a great lover of classic form poetry, it often sounds cliched and originality is given up in favour of rhyme. This however is original and fresh, the verses flow with confidence and freedom of expression. There are layers of depth and meaning within the imagery, which in itself is well created. Personally I think you should have got the gold. Excellent and enjoyable write.
