Am I to hope too for a brighter future?
When all that the present has given is pain
Am I to live in perpetual expectance?
That my disillusioned soul will still learn to have faith.

My eidolon has wasted away
My dreams too fragile to withstand your tempest
My eyes close against the harsh sun rays.
With what do I walk these shallow grounds?
Only banality and mediocrity await my presence
You have pulled me into a quagmire of your petty and unreasonable thoughts
Leaving me with the last laugh of your pretense.
Of what use is condemnation from a weak opponent?
Of honesty in a pithy world of loose morality
Of what use is a just deliberation,
When all you think of is partiality?
Every taste leaves a bitter aftertaste
With the dawn of dreams a fresh belief and faith
Relinquishing our fated hatred I relive your hell
I heard that death would be your saving grace.

The anime is Ergo Proxy and Re-I ofcourse is the protagonist who ends the life of her erstwhile city Romdo and saves the world.
The anime takes a while to be understood!
