Winter lay across her shoulders
like a dead lover
as she punched
footprints in the snow.
the glow
in the window
called through the
twelve-string wind
and the door shrieked
its protest
in admittance
to the soft warmth beyond...
enfolding candlelight
unassuming, benign
clandestine

Well Done!
This is a lovely write, the candlelight flickering in the background lends a romantic air.
Good solid writing my Bandit Sister. Congrats on the Gold Trophy. In promoting this Bandit contest I challenged my Bandit family to enter this contest and I said I would give 50 points to anyone who placed above(not an arrogant boast but friendly encouragement). I am sending your 50 points along with my sincere gratitude. Thanks for being the wonderful Bandit that you are.

Candle light does hold a kind of soothing quality to it. Enjoyed your interpretation of the candlelight prompt. Congrats on the gold!

That wonderful feeling of walking into soothing warmth from a cold winters day, is so comforting to think of, and with the addition of lighted candles and their cosy glow just feels like bliss...thanks for the wonderful imagery and uplifting sense of being safe and sound at the end of the day

Thank you for this super contribution

Nice one PP, I love candles especially the scented sort, though my partner hates them. It certainly is a great relief to get into a warm, welcoming house away from the biting wind and snow. I hope you do well in the contest.
