I sat and reminisced
On the year that had passed.
How i walked out,
On a love I thought would last,
But trying to make it work,
Used up all my strength.
Whilst jealous paranoia
Consumed every breath.
I found the strength I needed.
Because loving you wasn't enough.
It broke my heart
As i was leaving.
I knew I'd have to be tough.
As the year progressed
And i stayed on my own,
Yet something tells me,
This is how it's to be,
And I will never be alone.
I have the kids,
They bring such love,
Enrich my life no end.
I have my friends,
My life is mine,
Now i have no man i can offend.
