the way he smiles is pure sunlight
on my light-starved face
giving me the strength i need to talk to him
a few carefully chosen words
carved in my brain
to last me all night while i think of him
hearing his name
[heart shudder shudder stops]
almost too much to bear without a smile
so close/so far
why would he deign to be with me?
a poor unblessed female
not enough beauty to entrance him for long
brains insufficient to entertain
body too thick in some places, too thin in others
to make him lust
he has his pick, and why would it be me?
just another drooling member
of the opposite sex that he holds captive.
we're so different.
he's tall, i'm short
he's social and i am a loner
but one thrilling glance locks our gazes into stares
hallway traffic halts around us.
his perfect lips form words-but i can't seem to catch them
and he's whisked away into a crowd of oblivion
whilst i stand there, alone.

Awww I really like this
It seems so realistic, except for hallway traffic. HAHA you know our school, it wouldnt stop.. you'd get KILLED! hha but anyways I really like it. I think almost every girl feels this way at least once.
