Locked doors
Keep everyone out
Withdrawal from life
By sheer need
Never felt so isolated
Needing solitude
Protecting me
I’m not sure why
Or how to stop
It’s not a choice
It’s a need
Let me hide
Let me disappear
It won’t be long
This butterfly
Will re-emerge
In my own time
But for now…
