Pendulous Abyss

In the garden there is a staute of man,
holding in his hand the key to shadow land.
Feeling weak you hold your breath,
awaiting the last embrace of death.

In the sediments of life you are but a trifle,
all you have is the comfort of a knife and rifle.
The worst begins with the setting sun,
just like your good old friend you begin to run.
You wonder where the rainbow ends,
with all it's twists and bends.

They say life is a pendulous fall,
maybe worth the pain of joyless days.
Soon enough you will go,
where no one can touch you.

Though the chances are small,
there is a way from it all.
Won't you think it over,
you may come back yet again.

In the abyss of your mind,
you found all there is to find.
But there's too much to be done,
too many hearts to be mended.
