Your mother or your father
Or whoever your guardian may be,
Have in time, one point or other
Read you a fairytale love story.
About a knight in shining armor
High on his horse and
Running through the night
While bashing all the monsters
Until his princess is in sight.
As youngsters we take this fantasy
And quietly drift off to sleep.
We awake in our adulthood
And deem it a desired reality.
But why waste your breath trying
To reach the top of this ideal tower?
For all the fairy tales I have heard
Have always ended pretty sour.
Have you ever had a love at first sight,
And you know it's too good to be true?
Hmm, until you run out of romantic nights
And then you're always left feeling blue.
Well, I believed in all this
And was angry for quite awhile.
I expected a prince out of him
But he had a different kind of style.
We started off with no affection
And our idea of romance was a phone call.
We would go days and nights,
Even weeks with no contact at all.
But as time progressed...
We slowly congressed...
And now I've got what I've been looking for.
Instead of ideal, I have something real
And I couldn't ask for more.
See, we did everything in reverse
And went about it a different way.
We went through the bullshit first
And now we have romance for days.
Please tell me what you think

This is really good. I wanted a fairy tale romance, but I learned as well that it is just children stuff. Great write.

LOL. Well done sister! Definately not the direction I thought you'd take but it's a wonderful surprise.
Well, write on, my dear. One.
