I just want out

Trapped in the chains

As I lie here on the bed
The invisible chains lock me down
Beside you

I just want out
How do I do that?
Every time I tell you this is not going to work

You tighten the chains a little tighter

I am you wife but I am still a human
I have pain just like you

All you have to do is show me that you love me
But the only thing you can show me is how my body can get abused
All the bruises
The cuts
Broken noses

I beg and plead with you all of the time
I get nowhere
So in this poem I write to you

I beg you this last time

Please let me out of these chains I want to be free
