Running, the sound of feet pounding
rustling through the grassy meadow.
Crying, stumbling toward the shade,
the shade of the lumbering oak tree.
Right behind, calling to find the crier,
the worry lines showing,
spotting the outline hugging the trunk
sprinting forward to comfort.
Coming closer, the crier circles the tree,
trying not to be seen.
The comforter reaches out, grabbing a hand
and pull the crier close.
They lay down together,
the comforter holding the shaking friend,
Rubbing the criers back,
as silent tears roll down the comforters face.

Very well written! I like this poem. Everyone can use a comforter at some point in their life. I have no favourite or least favourite part. There should be no improvments. It was written very well! Good luck in your contest!
