WiseMan

One day, in the autumn of life,
school was out.
The sun was still shining bright,
giving loads of energy.

You needed to express
feelings from your heart and soul
in poetic songs and lyrics.

Travelling through space and time,
we met on a platform,
got acquainted,
and continued our journey together,
on the same train.
Destination unknown.

Enjoying each other’s company:
talking a lot, discussing possibilties,
we were learning from each other.
You were the locomotive,
pushing me - and others - forward.

Then the train stopped;
a wyvern attacked me.
I was kicked out of the coupé,
left alone on the clay,
bleeding
and in pain.

Fortunately,
gliding over the rainbow,
we met again.
after my wounds were healed.

Now we use parallel rails,
occasionally meeting on the platform again.
My appreciation for you hasn’t deminished.
I love the work from your hands
and the thoughts from your heart.
You’re a unique WiseMan,
whom I will always remember
with Joy and love.

Author notes

For my dear friend Ron,
whom I have given hard times in the last two years.
I am really sorry about that.
I appreciate it, that he, despite everything,
has stayed friends with me.

Thanks for your help and support, Ron.
Wishing you all the best and lots of love.

A.

    Since rereading this ...

I wonder if you would have any objections to my posting this on my blog?

    If not, let me know.

Wyvern? Sounds exotic. But the main point of the piece is your tribute to Ron and I really like the image of meeting on the platform and travelling together.

    Dear, sweet A

    I do remember you.
And each line above speaks of moments of anti-pole work, love and really gliding over rainbows. Joy, yes, and happiness too!
This free verse poem is rather beautiful and I hope I am not biassed.
Thank you for your love and respect cheerfully returned to you.
