My son, my love for you is never ending..
You made me laugh when I was down
With you I could never be mad..
You knew how to make a heart glad..
When you laughed there was so many tears
But it was all in good cheer..
I held you up when you fell down
And helped you fight back all your fears..
I gave you love and advice
For all the girls,
I taught you how to be nice..
I gave you hugs constantly
Who would have ever known that
You would leave so suddenly
I have you in my heart and mind
But sometimes it seems like that is not
Enough, because of your short time
That I had you in my life..
Your Birthday is coming soon and
Everytime it seems like I miss you
Even more then the year before..
I never got to say everything that I wanted to
But maybe someday
I will stand with you at Heavens gate..
I will dance and sing a merry cheer because
My son is with me here..
I will hold him tight with teary eyes
As he whispers, "it will be alright.
I'm here today because of you
and how you told me about the truth..
While I've been waiting and watching
I've told God all about you..
But this is not yet the time
For you to be here, I just asked God
For a moment to ease all your fears..
Wake up mother and know that I am here
Waiting for the day when the time is near
Then I will be there with you
To hold your hand as we walk into God's golden land...
So wake up mother with a lighter heart,
And know that we are not far apart.."
I wake up and smile and remember my life with a cute little boy
that caused some small strife, but now that I think about his short life
I know that he loved me and did all he could to live right..
I turn to the sun and smile so softly, thinking...
My son is waiting and watching, Happy Birthday Donald Rene

I wouldn't have taken this on. The grief of death is deep and personal. I see, you have the ability to reach inside and touch people's hearts.
