Climate change is headline news
Will it happen? Yes it will!
And when it really gets here
Guess who will pay the bill?
It won't be the big companies
Nor those multi nation'l guys.
They make your hard earned dollar
Disappear before your eyes
It won't be those in government
Nor the beaurocrats you see,
It will be the many workers
Just like you and me.
The pollution is still pouring out
From coal burners, in the air,
From power generators, factories
That are busy everywhere.
But the people who are fouling us
Trade off this awful mess,
They invest in carbon credits;
Shareholders they will bless.
They'll raise the cost of everything,
Changing climate is the cause,
The Gov'ment then raises taxes
They explain that its because
They're investing in the future
For the voters in this land.
But they're still taking money
From every workers hand.
After all is said and done
Mother Nature knows what's best
So she keeps right on changing things
To put humans to the test,
One day we may get it right
She'll get on the phone
And tell the nations experts
To leave our world alone.

Excellent piece and I think that it won't be too long before we see mother nature dish out her own justice on humanity. You just have to look around at what is happening today to see how things are changing. Climates change regularly over the centuries but I think man has pushed it to extroidinary lengths and nature is having a hard time trying to combat mans disgraceful waste and uncaring ways. Brilliant piece that read well and ceetainly did get your message across here.

Many thanks again Lee, I re-read this today and nothing that's been said by the powers that be makes me feel any different now from when I wrote this one. We are again stuck in drought and some who have irrigation farms will go broke. there isn't any water. Some places are scratching to have enough for domestic use, let alone irrigation. Even the underground water is diminishing rapidly.

I am sorry I really do not mean to offend but in the end I was laughing.. Because in the way that you put this in ryhme it was a like a jolly ol' song about a very serious matter.. And the fact that Mother Nature has a phone is so cute.. I bet it's a sprint-phone..hmm. no wonder we're not getting the message yet..lol.

My effort to make something of the fact of climate change has hit a spot here and there. It probably should have been an article, but no one takes any notice of them, so I put it in rhyme. Thank you for commenting, maybe I shall try an article later on.

Great write Bob....I think one day mother nature is just going to say, Thats It Ive had enough, and wipe us all from this planet......and that may not be a bad thing actually, she will recover and replenish, just ensuring man is not here ....

Hi Rob, thanks for your comments. Its a sad day when we know that we, as a type of being, are making a bit of a mess of the very thing that gives us life, our planet. Mother Nature won't wipe everyone out, just most of us. The few that remain may get it right next time.

Let's face it... big business is gonna make the most of whatever they can to fill their pockets and satisfied their needs and their shareholders!!! It sucks that even something like this global issue is something that will end up lining their pockets, while others still suffer!!

Hi Jackie, Yes its a sad day for everyone that the process of reducing pollution of the atmosphere will be paid for by the minority as normal. Pity we can't charge for services we render to society. Thank you for reading my grumbles.
