An ache for true love holds me, but
love in high school is impossible,
and that's life, cold and cruel.
At least I have happiness: it's
my friends' laughter with mine.
In a public place with noisy
people, outside, we chase, we
laugh, we sing and run and hug.
The leaves are flying, the wind
is cold, but the sun is warm
between clouds, the smell of
fall is freedom. Hands
creating something: touch the
magic that we have made. I'm
being forgiven for all
that I've done, so I thank you,
Lord, and I ask for one
more thing: to stop time,
so I can stay with my friends
and be happy for a while longer.

I enjoyed seeing you happy with your friends. Wonder what you needed to be forgiven for? Lovely sentiments. Thanks for the entry.

I THINK THAT YOU HAVE DONE A WONDERFUL JOB WRITING THIS and for someone so young.I think that you will only better your writing style with time.Although with this poem I see nothing that needs improvment.Great luck with the contest and keep writing, you're very good and have much to share with us all.
