There's a difference between a ghetto girl and ghetto trash
Cause a ghetto GIRL can be smart in academics and the streets
where ghetto TRASH only KNOWS the streets
and common sense is practically absent, like she never had it, see
violence is her solution to any and every altercation
and getting things straight is beyond her capabilities
but a Ghetto Girl, is ghetto fabulous, she stays clean constantly
and resolves her battles with words before it even gets to fighting
and sometimes in writing, she expresses herself flawlessly
she's even more likely to leave the ghetto successfully
where the chances a Ghetto Trash has in leaving
is either in a box or the penetentiary
but she ain't tryna leave cause the ghetto is all she knows and sees
she is the poverty that litters the streets, literally
cause thats how she came up to be, she never had the luxury
of a nice home, nice family, self respect, respect for others and her elders especially.
But a Ghetto Girl, she may have a quick tongue, but she's been disciplined
constantly, either by her mother, father, both, or anyone whose words
she considers worth listening to and keeping.
A Ghetto Girl knows and sets her boundaries,
But Ghetto Trash, doesn't have many if ANY boundaries or limitations see?
A Ghetto Girl is beautiful, even if she DON'T speak properly
she appreciates the finer things like art, and poetry, music and reading, a good MAN especially
She's hardworking, committed, she's a TRUE independent woman, independent TRULY
And Ghetto trash will always be ghetto Trash unless she
finally sees that there's more to life than what she's experiencing
and stop her filthy ways and clean herself physically and mentally
and explore the possibilities of leavin the hood successfully
accept God in her life and watch her blessings come about
"A beautiful woman without common sense, is like a pure gold ring in a pigs snout"
(proverbs 11:22)
Author notes

This does make sense and the flow is with ease and rhythm like always. It sounds still intelligent and meaningful...Words that help motivate and teach people espeacially kids the difference between ghetto trash and ghetto girl...also espeacially for those who are living in the ghetto they can be happy by loving who they are mentally and/or physically. Excellent explanation/flow and great rhyming

This is a great piece of work for sure
I grew up without a lot myself and yet we were never told as kids we were poor .Our parents would tell us we are just living different than the other people .But we live by Gods word and good to all people we meet .We show respect and love to all who are about us and in doing so we are richer than most . I know where you are coming from with this piece for we as kids never saw color we saw friends and we never questioned why we were different for we all played the same games and ate at each others house and we would take up for each other if other kids were out to do any of us harm . Love was taught to us by looking within not out so life for us was good even tough we did have eight kids in a two bedroom house

Oh. This is an interesting poem that you had going on here. I liked the title and came to see what you had to say about it. I thought you made a lot of sense in the differences between that too. It makes a lot of sense to me. And I loved the question that you wrote about the comments box. It made me stop and think. It was a good question to ask.

i went from ghetto trash (brassy and sassy) to refine ghetto girl... i love it it sent a message that you can go from ugly duckling to beautiful swan .. if you try and be positive.. thanks for sharing

I'M a Ghetto girl you knows it DRE lol. I liked this, though, all the rhyming kinda took away from the message impact. I think you over rhymed it in this one. But I liked it though, and yea, Ghetto Trash need to get they ackright. Lol, great job
