sad math

If I could count seconds
in my own way,
everyone would add up to
tomorrow.

Author notes

'You're growing up. And rain sort of remains on the branches of a tree that will someday rule the Earth. And it's good that there is rain. It clears the month of your sorry rainbow expressions, and it clears the streets of the silent armies... so we can dance.'
-Jim Carroll-

For a short piece, the title works wonderfully - the word 'sad' is excellent; such a small sad word in itself. Very well done - I enjoy short pieces, but perhaps this one is a little ambiguous for my liking. Maybe some adjectives could flesh it out more.

Perhaps I'm just missing something here. What is 'tomorrow' referring to?

The repeated references to maths have been done well.
    Thanks for entering!
