He Died

He died for me
    He died for you.

A world full of fear,
      A world full of hate
  Killing of brothers
      Abandon of lovers.

              HE CAME

A halo of love surrounding his face.

    Don’t know who he is,
His shadow a mystery
      To me
          To you.

          I DON’T CARE.

    What he did
        Made my world
              Your world

THE REST IS JUST PROPAGANDA.

HE DIED
    Not an ordinary death
              At all
                  For a king.

        No glamour,
No décor.

          The passion
                Of life.

I LOVE HIM.

He died,
      Prozac for the world,
              Giving us hope,
                      Saving us all.

          IT’S UP TO US.

The Promised Land he showed,
      No territories,
        One world,
        Together
          Forever
          In love
          With each other,
          With life.

Why is it then
That in the land he died
          Millions of people
Die for no reason at all?

Didn’t he teach us a lesson?
      Didn’t he resurrect our souls?

Who are those people?
    Who adore him
        But show no regard
            For our world,
            Our life.

WHEN WILL THE RAINBOW COME?

He died,
    For me,
        For you.

        DON’T FORGET.

Author notes

Hello Everybody :)

OUT OF A SPIRITUAL INSPIRATION I WROTE THIS.

I tend to like to write for EVERYBODY (or as many people as I can reach) so ONE thing: even though there is an obvious RELIGIOUS element to this, I am a very liberal catholic, the fact that what I believe is right doesn't mean that what you believe is wrong, the fact that what you believe is wrong doesn't mean what I believe is wrong (appart from obvious contradictions).
JESUS, was a living person, an historical character, as real as Socrates (many question his existence since he never wrote). Doesn't matter who he was, black, white, man, woman, tall, short, beautiful, ugly, married, single, what matters is what HE DID, which was transcendental from the point of view of many religions.

A few explainations of what I wrote:

*by PROPAGANDA, I basically mean the façade of things, what some people buy, or what decorates a persons life. Superficial stuff.

*by THE PASSION IN LIFE, i mean that in his life and death he showed us how to live a trully passionate life, he was passionate on what he did and how he lived. Moreover, whenever I live according to Him,loving and forgiving and trying to do something for myself and others, I feel the true passion of life.

*The word PROZAC is NOT incentivating the idea of abuising pharmaceutics which alter the mind (DUH!), it means that in a chaotic world he gave answers, and that I believe that if everybody lived according to him, simply being humble and loving, the world would be HAPPY.

*IT'S UP TO US, if we follow him, if we are saved or not. *By THE PROMISED LAND, I didn't mean Israel, but a whole world, a free, happy world.

*IN THE LAND THAT HE DIES, does mean Israel, but also the world. Where people die for no reason that makes sense at all (war, hunger, disease).

*WHO ARE THOSE PEOPLE? people who consider themselves 'religious', go to church every sunday, indirectly compromising to follow His precepts, but have so little regard for human life.

*RAINBOW, Hope. Beauty after the storm. Unity, Different people, unided as one.

*THE STRANGE SETTING, just felt like doing it, but then it reminded me of a thing I thought once in confirmation: my relatgionship with God is like the sea, with it's high and low points, but always there.

OK, that's it!

Thanks for putting up with my rambling (if you actually did!)

Peace N' Love,

Michelle

    "IT’S UP TO US."

    " In love
    With each other,
    With life."

These lines were the most powerful.
(Although the whole poem was a little like a punch in the stomach.)
    I actually really liked it.
Which is pretty weird when the theme is taken into account.

Anyway, I think the poem flows very well and the force of emotion that was put into it radiates.

Thanks for your comment! as I said in the notes (too long for anyone whith a reasonable sanity level to read), this poem isnt meant for Christians alone, I want to write for EVERYBODY. Jesus IS my God, but still I think he gave everyone (even those who don't adore him) a pretty good message.
