Origami Heart

These strands of emptiness
Are laced with time
They are laced by the nothingness
They string through my heart
Just enough so it’s wrapped in lace
Her heart is delicate they say

Made of paper, like origami swans
Creased and folded along the edges
Like cherry blossoms and wind songs

Hands grip the autumn leaves, and set fire to this life
Embrace the cold until it warms; can you see her eyes?

The orchids have wilted so only Strychnine remains
These eyes no longer cry for she’s found strength
In place of her pain

She falls back to the reality, and the sweet lullabies
As she takes the hand of darkness, and entwines it with the light

She’s running with him now, that ebony winged boy
The laces unfurling from her heart
The ones that once held her together
So she wouldn’t fall apart

She doesn’t need them anymore, her arms spread wide…
As she finally embraces the sky, as she finally lets herself freefall
Into the brilliance of the night.

I like this. The first two stanzas are really pretty.

Sorry, I'm not really good at writing reviews. DX
